  GREAT ESCAPES

EARTHROAMER XV-JP

Who among us enjoy being disrobed by the TSA and delayed by the twin forces of the FAA and airlines at what is suppose to be a vacation escape? While sitting in traffic for hours at the start of a trip is no joy either, at least we can control our own departure time.

American Garage is all about finding the alternative vehicle to plan our great escapes, regardless of the duration.

The Earthroamer (top photos) XV-JP isn't your ordinary RV or camper. Manufactured using the newly redesigned Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4WD Unlimited in Broomfield, CO www.earthroamer.com. Earthroamer XV-JP uses an electrically controlled Loftop that provides 9 feet of standup room as well as a queen size bed, sink, toliet, refrigerator/freezer, shower and screened room under the rear of the Loftop.

The go anywhere Wrangler www.jeep.com allows you to avoid those campsite fees and set up without worry of who will pull in next to you in the middle of the night. Solar panels on the roof top and battery bank provides power for the refrigerator/freezer. Engine heated hot water tank provides plenty of hot water for the indoor galley and shower. Off road lights, air compressor, winch & winch bumper plus upgraded suspension for 37 inch off-road tires, round out the package that lists at $110,000 including the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. Automatics available, 6-speed manuals require a wait from Jeep to deliver the 3-pedal version to Earthroamer.

URAL PATROL MOTORCYCLES

Ural motorcycles saw their first action in the theater of war. Tough, reliable and strong, Urals transported thousands of Russian soldiers in battle during World War II.

Ural motorcycles www.imz-ural.com have retained their solid military roots and have evolved to include many modern technical improvements: front disc brakes, electric start, electronic ignition, and efficient alternators. A Sport Utility Motorcycle with a shaft drive and the only sidecar motorcycles in the world with on-demand two-wheel drive. The Ural Patrol (bottom photos) MSRP $10,299. Take in the scenery of the open road, confident that the added traction is there when you need it.
